Eagle Eye EMR is a complete electronic medical record and practice management system for ophthalmology, developed in live daily operation at the Eagle Eye Laser Centre Nairobi – shaped by the surgeons, nurses, optometrists and front-office teams who use it every day.
Most practice-management systems are designed in Europe or the US and then adapted for African markets – with licence models, hardware requirements and workflows that rarely match reality on the ground. Eagle Eye EMR took the opposite path: it was created step by step inside a busy self-pay refractive and cataract clinic in Nairobi, with every module requested, tested and refined by the clinical team itself.
The result is a system that reflects how an African eye clinic actually works: fast patient throughput, mixed clinical and optical services, cash-based and insurance billing side by side, team communication instead of paper notes, and regulatory documentation ready for inspection.
Guided intake wizard, full ophthalmic encounter documentation, preliminary exam workflows, department queues.
Theatre notes, consent forms with finger signature, laser and lens surgery documentation.
Spectacle prescriptions, optical shop workflow, branded A6 prescription printing.
Injection cycles, OCT documentation, follow-up tracking.
Receipts, billing workflows, stock management, end-of-month reporting.
Internal messaging with read receipts, team tasks, staff presence, employee recognition.
Category-based patient ratings, QR-linked feedback page on receipts.
SOPs, risk assessment and DPIA built in; private storage with signed URLs; full access log; FHIR import/export.
Integrated help chatbot with voice input and AI-supported commands and automations.
Fully web-based – works on existing PCs, tablets and phones. No server room, no IT department required.
